NEWS - Sun Fast 3600

Sun Fast 3600 racing two-up in the M2H Westcoaster

The Sun Fast 3600 'Double Trouble' will be competing in the 2016 Melbourne to Hobart Westcoaster in the two-handed division. Under the banner of 38 South Racing, Double Trouble has had a successful start to it's campaign including a 2nd overall on IRC in the Melbourne Stanley Race. Despite racing two-up, they had to endure a fully-crewed handicap!

The Melbourne To Hobart Westcoaster Race starts on the 27th of December from Portsea Pier on Port Phillip Bay and is arguably the Australia's most challenging ocean race. The race sees competitors tackle 440nm across Bass Strait and down Tasmania's rugged west coast before finishing on the Derwent River, hopefully in time for the New Year celebrations!

Designed by Daniel Andrieu and recently crowned "IRC Boat Of The Year", the Sun Fast 3600 benefits from the latest advances in vacuum-bagged resin infusion to ensure exceptional strength and rigidity while drastically reducing weight. The lightweight, powerful hull with its hard chine, twin rudders and lead keel contributes to this new Sun Fast’s speed, balance and stability on all tacks. Perfectly adapted to solo, double-handed, and crewed regattas, the Sun Fast 3600 is designed to compete in both inshore and offshore races. Available with twin, composite tillers or wheel steering and choices in mainsheet management, the deck layout ensures easy handling through well thought-out ergonomics and optimised sailing functions.
