Albin 28 Tournament Express "D'Whim"
The Albin 28 Tournament Express Cruiser is outstanding in all respects... *build quality and attention to detail, *big cockpit with integrated storage, bait, and fish wells, * walk around side decks, *fully enclosed wheelhouse, *comfortable and well-appointed saloon, galley and general accommodation. These boats are famous for their sea-kindly hull providing a remarkably comfortable 'big boat' ride powered by the quietly efficient 315 hp Yanmar. The bow thruster takes the drama out of docking. D'Whim has proven herself as a capable, easily handled vessel in the far northwestern waters of Tasmania.
She has been a much-loved boat and well maintained by a very experienced owner who loved to fish.

|Accommodation||Before we step inside we should talk about the amazing cockpit (very much a part of the accommodation. When you step from the boarding platform through the transom gate you will note the generous size of the cockpit and the padded coamings. Less obvious are the integrated fish well, the live bait tank (separate dead bait bin), the courtesy lights and the deck wash. A large electrically operated hatch in the cockpit floor opens up to reveal storage plus access to machinery components. A teak table and a gas BBQ (add a few deck chairs) make for an alternative galley. The wheelhouse hard roof overhangs the cockpit by a metre or so. Step into the wheelhouse and note the great visibility, the well-equipped helm station to starboard and the two fully adjustable Todd Helm Seats. Step through the companionway to the cosy cabin. The American cherrywood trim, cream liners/mouldings, and navy upholstery give a certain classic traditional feel.
There is accommodation for at least three people, plus a remarkably generous bathroom with hot shower to starboard. Immediately to port and running back aft is a large single longitudinal number, the dinette with surrounding settee converts into a large double berth. The galley (to port) can cater for weekends away, with a sink and pressurized hot/cold water. There are masses of easily accessed storage spaces. The clever design and attention to detail are exceptional.
Headroom is generally around 6'2".
