Dick Thompson 35 Sloop "Aurora"
$41,000 NOW REDUCED
Huon pine 35-foot sloop (LOD 33ft) built to a strong design and an excellent sea boat able to be easily single-handed. “Aurora” has been up the east coast of Australia and sailed extensively around Tasmania. Gentlemanly racing in Div 2 or 3 at Kettering Yacht Club (where she has won numerous trophies) ensures that she is slipped and serviced annually. From the details below you will see that she has been lovingly maintained and she presents in good condition.
“Aurora” has also been in nine Australian Wooden Boat Festivals, whereby a full strip and paint job occurs every 2 years. She is part way through an update, with a new electric toilet, curtains and glass windows recently fitted.
The owners admit that age means they no longer cruise and maintenance is becoming more physically demanding. It is time for new caring owners to continue her story. They are keen to sell and all offers will be considered.
