Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 42DS "Genevieve" SOLD
$279,950
The 42DS is a high-volume boat with considerable freeboard providing great space on deck and below. Clever design has produced a fine-looking boat with nice lines and which performs well in all respects. The decks are wide and uncluttered. The well-sheltered cockpit is big, deep and secure. With cockpit cushions, table and BBQ it is effectively an extension of the living space. Efficient under sail and motor the 42DS is a proven sea boat. Visibility from each of the two helms is excellent. The power winches, furling headsail/main and the easy cockpit access to halyards and sail trim systems ensure this boat can be safely sailed short-handed. A bow thruster assists with the tight manoeuvres. STEP BELOW to a light, airy SPACIOUS saloon, a first-class galley, an amazing full-beam owner's aft cabin with king-size bed, a well-appointed private cabin forward, two bathrooms, a real nav station and much more... This is simply cruising at its best.
"Genevieve's" experienced owner has completed a number of circumnavigations of Tasmania and cruised the Bass Strait extensively (often single-handed).
She has been well maintained and presents well. Note: The vessel will be handed to the next owner with a NEW SPRAY DODGER AND BIMINI (currently on order).

A 'U' shaped settee lounge is to starboard with an in-line settee opposite to port. In the centre is a large drop-side dining table (with inset wine bottle storage). An insert can be dropped into the starboard lounge to make an occasional berth. The settees are nicely upholstered in off-white Alcantra. * The chart table/navigation station is to port. This is the 'nerve' centre with the switchboard, monitoring instruments and radios all within easy reach. * The L shaped galley is to starboard and adjacent to the companionway steps strategically located to service on and below deck. * The companionway steps swing out to access the engine. *Aft of the galley is the door to the owners' grand (FULL BEAM) cabin that truly should be referred to as the 'stateroom'. With a super-king-size (2m x 2m) double bed, bed end seats, lockers and storage aplenty, plenty of light and ventilation, en-suite (of course). The en-suite has a second door from the saloon for day access Notes: Headroom throughout is excellent. A very efficient Webasto diesel heater provides a subtle warmth in winter. Storage: Jeanneau understands the importance of easily accessed, dedicated storage bins and lockers. Behind, under and below, there is sufficient storage to stow the needs of a full crew for an extended cruise. A good example is the deep bilge storage under the galley floor.
